Job Title: Assistant Director – Case Management

Location: Brooklyn, New York, United States (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hours/week

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Case Management supports the Director in overseeing daily operations of the Case Management department. This role ensures efficient care coordination, regulatory compliance, and optimal utilization of healthcare resources while maintaining high standards of patient care and departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor all Case Management activities and staff performance
  • Coordinate orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training for Case Management nurses
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospital teams to enhance patient care delivery
  • Identify, analyze, and trend utilization issues; implement effective solutions
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to Case Management staff and hospital personnel
  • Represent the Director in meetings and during their absence
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Proactively identify operational issues and drive resolution strategies
  • Support overall hospital operations through additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Case Manager Certification (CCM)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in direct patient care
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in utilization management or quality review

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress healthcare environment
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs when assisting patients
  • Exposure to clinical risks including bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for clinical and administrative tasks
