Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Long Term Care Nurse Educator to lead staff development and training for our long-term care nursing team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating orientation, clinical training, and continuing education programs. The ideal candidate will be a strong clinical leader, educator, and mentor who supports high-quality patient care through evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and conduct onboarding and continuing education programs for nursing staff.
  • Identify staff learning needs and create tailored development plans.
  • Serve as a clinical coach and mentor, providing supervision and support based on competency assessments.
  • Facilitate nursing education aligned with current best practices, policies, and patient care standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Create and manage educational resources, manuals, and multimedia tools.
  • Support clinical documentation and EMR training, including audits and best-practice guidance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and nursing excellence through staff education and change management.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and learner outcomes to continuously enhance training delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as an RN.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Long-Term Care setting.
  • Strong background in adult learning, clinical education, and nursing standards.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AV equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform duties in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in quality improvement or change management is a plus.

Education:

  • Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)

Licensure & Certifications:

Required:

  • Valid NY State RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Preferred:

  • Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (RN-BC)
