Job Summary
- We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Activity Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will develop and implement therapeutic activity programs designed to support patients’ emotional, physical, and social well-being. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including Social Services, to enhance patient recovery through structured and engaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate therapeutic activities such as art, music, exercise, and group sessions
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized activity plans
- Monitor patient participation and document progress
- Collaborate with nursing staff and Social Services to support patient care goals
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all patients
- Adapt activities based on patient condition and abilities
Schedule & Program Structure
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (8-hour shift)
- Department: Reports to Social Services
- Group Schedule:
- Morning session: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Afternoon session: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- The Activity Therapist will facilitate two (2) group sessions per day
- Each group session is 30 minutes in duration
- Total direct group facilitation time is approximately 1 hour per day, with remaining time dedicated to planning, documentation, and patient engagement
