DirectShifts is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Medicine Physician to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients struggling with substance use disorders in the vibrant city of Atlanta, GA.
Job Description:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use disorders, including alcohol, opioid, and other drug dependencies
- Provide comprehensive addiction treatment, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detoxification, and behavioral therapies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
- Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring safe and effective use
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services
- Educate patients and their families about addiction, treatment options, and recovery resources
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in addiction medicine through ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine or a related specialty
- Valid medical license in Georgia State
- Experience in addiction treatment and recovery services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Passion for helping individuals overcome addiction and achieve lasting recovery
