Job Overview:
The Administrative Nurse Manager – PACU will oversee both pediatric and adult PACU operations, providing leadership and operational oversight for nursing and ancillary staff.
This role manages 13 direct reports and collaborates closely with the PACU leadership team. During the 12 PM – 8 PM shift, the manager will primarily oversee the Children’s PACU and assist with Adult PACU coverage after 3 PM, working alongside the current PACU manager.
The pediatric unit serves patients ranging from newborn to 21 years of age.
The role reports to the Clinical Director and Associate Director of the OR and includes responsibilities such as staffing coordination, scheduling, payroll oversight, and departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and supervision to PACU nursing and ancillary staff
- Manage staff scheduling, payroll coordination, and staffing coverage
- Oversee 13 direct reports, ensuring strong team performance and accountability
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations
- Maintain operational oversight to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality patient care
- Coordinate inventory management, budgeting, and operational planning
- Lead quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and hospital leadership
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Administrative Nurse Manager (ANM) title listed on resume for manager-level consideration
- Experience in PACU, perioperative, or surgical services nursing
- Prior nursing leadership or management experience
- Strong background in staff supervision, scheduling, and operational management
- Ability to support care for both pediatric and adult patient populations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
