Shift: 7:00 AM-7:30 PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our cardiovascular team. The RN will provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensuring safe and high-quality outcomes. This position involves patient management across all phases of care—pre-, intra-, and post-procedure—as well as hemodynamic monitoring, emergency response, and direct procedural support through scrubbing and circulating duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, ensuring informed consent and readiness.
  • Assist cardiologists during cardiac caths, angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker insertion, and electrophysiology studies.
  • Perform scrub and circulate duties during all cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
  • Perform continuous hemodynamic assessment, monitoring vital signs, ECG rhythms, and pressure waveforms.
  • Administer medications, contrast agents, and conscious sedation per established protocols.
  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Provide patient education on procedures, recovery, and post-discharge care.
  • Recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies, initiating ACLS interventions as needed.
  • Accurately document assessments, medications, and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date clinical competencies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of critical care nursing experience.
  • Cardiac Cath Lab scrub and circulate experience required.
  • Proficient in IV insertion and phlebotomy techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in administering and monitoring conscious sedation.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities within a multidisciplinary team.

Education:

Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
