Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist(CRNA) | Houston | TX
DirectShifts is seeking a CRNA to join their team at Houston, TX. A CRNA is expected to provide professional nursing service by administering anesthesia to surgical patients. Prepares and administers anesthetic to patients to reversibly depress bodily functions, or otherwise desensitize a patient to permit the performance of medical or surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and administers anesthetic agents to patients in order to desensitize them to permit the performance of medical or surgical procedures
- Performs pre-anesthesia evaluation of the patient in order to ascertain physiological and psychological factors which influence the selection of anesthetic agent and the formulation of the plan of anesthetic management
- Monitors the patient in the operating room in order to maintain the patients in a homeostatic condition and to assure that unnecessary injuries are not inflicted on the patient
- Records anesthetic information on the anesthesia chart to provide a permanent record necessary for the care of the patient, to provide material for teaching, for study, and to establish a medical-legal record
- Provides clinical supervision or guidance of nurse anesthesia students, paramedical, and medical students in order to contribute to their clinical training
- Responds to emergency situations
- Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Current Texas Licensure as APRN
- Current American Association of Nurse Anesthetist certification (AANA)
