Collaborating Physician Opportunity – California Telepsychiatry Practice
Position Overview
An established telepsychiatry practice in California is seeking a California-licensed Collaborating Physician to provide oversight and support for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). This is a remote, low-time-commitment role focused on chart review and physician availability for consultation as required by state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly chart review.
- Remain available for consultation via phone, text, or email when clinical questions arise.
- Provide collaborative oversight in accordance with California regulations.
- Participate in periodic documentation reviews and compliance-related activities as needed.
- No direct patient care responsibilities required.

Prescribing & Billing Information
- Controlled substances will be prescribed, including: (Stimulants , Benzodiazepines)
- Prescriptions will be written under the PMHNP's own NPI/license.
- No billing will be submitted under the collaborating physician's name.
- Physician's name will be included as the collaborating physician on required documentation.
Physician Requirements
- Active California Medical License.
- Board certification preferred but not required.
- Specialty in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
- Prior experience collaborating with Nurse Practitioners preferred.
- Comfortable supporting a psychiatric telehealth practice.
