Collaborating Physician Opportunity – Telehealth Weight Loss Practice (California / Texas)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Collaborating / Supervising Physician to support a growing telehealth weight loss practice. The practice is led by an experienced Nurse Practitioner (FNP & PMHNP) and has been operational since 2022. The physician’s role is intended to support compliance requirements for telehealth operations, primarily in California, with preference given to physicians also licensed in Texas.
Preferred Physician Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted California Physician License (Required)
- Texas Physician License (Preferred) – dual licensure in CA and TX is highly desirable
- Experience or comfort working with telehealth and weight management / wellness services
- Open to a collaborative, low-volume oversight role
Scope of Responsibilities
The physician role is non-clinical and compliance-focused, involving:
- Conducting monthly chart reviews for telehealth weight loss patients
- Providing physician collaboration/supervision as required by state compliance
- Reviewing documentation through the Practice Q platform/system
- Ensuring oversight and compliance standards are met
What the Role Does Not Include
- No direct patient care responsibilities
- No requirement to see patients
- No prescription management responsibilities
- No insurance involvement (practice is private-pay only)
The Nurse Practitioner independently manages patient care and prescribing under their license. The physician’s involvement is limited to chart review and collaboration support.
