Collaborating / Supervising Psychiatrist – New York Telehealth Practice
Position Overview
A newly launching telehealth psychiatric practice in New York is seeking a New York-licensed Psychiatrist to serve as a Collaborating/Supervising Physician for two Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs).
This is a fully remote, low-volume collaboration opportunity designed for a psychiatrist who is comfortable providing clinical oversight, reviewing patient care, and being available for periodic consultation as the practice develops.
Practice & Clinician Background
- Two Nurse Practitioners are launching the practice together.
- Both have nursing and clinical experience, with approximately 6 months–1 year of psychiatric experience.
- One NP also has approximately 3 years of Family Nurse Practitioner experience and 15+ years of RN experience.
- The second NP has approximately 6–7 years of Women's Health experience.
- The practice will initially focus on patients in New York, with plans to expand into additional states in the future.
- Initial patient volume is expected to grow as the practice launches, with approximately 15–20+ patients per month initially and potential for significantly higher volume as the practice develops.
Responsibilities
- Monthly chart review for each NP
- Two 50–60 minute clinical consultation sessions per month
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation as needed
- Review treatment plans and prescribing practices

- Fully remote, low-time-commitment role
- Initial practice is cash-pay, with plans to expand
- Patient volume expected to grow as the practice launches
- Potential use of stimulants/ADHD medications; benzodiazepines may be used selectively
- Physician maintains their own malpractice coverage
Requirements
- MD/DO, Psychiatrist
- Active New York medical license
- Comfortable collaborating with PMHNPs in a telehealth setting
- DEA registration preferred/required as applicable
Compensation: Negotiable; structured per NP based on experience and scope
