Job Description:
- Performs radiologic mammography exams per department protocol including advanced
- Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations
- Perform the quality control functions related to mammography
- Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner
- Perform high quality radiologic and mammography exams on incoming patients
- Assess patient’s medical condition, age, size and other related medical conditions to determine if patient is able to undergo mammography examination and to how best to obtain optimal results/images
- Immobilize patient as required for appropriate examination, explaining the need for breast compression during mammography
- Assume responsibility for mammography equipment and reports equipment malfunction
- Demonstrates the ability to operate mammography and biopsy equipment properly
- Conducts daily, weekly and monthly QC testing to ensure the quality control functions related to mammography
- Demonstrates competency in the selection of proper positioning and technical factors in digital mammography to demonstrate appropriate anatomical structures and possible corresponding pathology
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including mammography (minimum 50% of time) in accordance with provider or radiologist orders, radiology services manual and radiation safety precautions
- Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of patients served (adult, geriatric) and maintains knowledge of the development and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients
- Selects proper technical factors, film size, and compression to obtain optimal radiographs
- Maintains current ARRT, CPR, and State of Nevada certifications
- Graduate of an approved AMA Radiologic Technology program required
- Performs routine and special view mammograms under the direction of a radiologist
- Performs other related duties as required and deemed necessary per Breast Center Manager
- Verifies and transmits each exam to the PACs System
- Follows all safety and infection prevention policies and procedures
License and Certification:
IL State License, CPR, BLS, ARRT, AHA, BCLS, R.T

Monday through Friday, day shift
