About the Role:
As an ICU RN at a DirectShifts facility in NYC, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to critically ill and injured patients. You will work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and other nurses to ensure the best possible outcomes for your patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the complex needs of critically ill patients.
- Administer critical care medications, operate life support equipment, and perform advanced nursing interventions.
- Interpret vital signs and lab results, collaborate with physicians on treatment plans, and document patient care meticulously.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients' families during a difficult time.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment for critically ill patients.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and critical care protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted New York State RN License.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care nursing (ICU, CCU, NICU, etc.) preferred.
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) mandatory.
- PALS certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) (a plus).
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, critical care environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach with a focus on advocacy.
