Job Description:

The Interventional Radiology RN works directly with radiologists, nurses, and radiology technologists during vascular/interventional and neuroradiology procedures. You will be expected to make quick decisions and work independently, and carry out the physician’s medical orders, assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures, provide a safe and therapeutic environment, and coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, their family, health professionals, and important others. This position includes patient care and monitoring for all IR procedures including procedural sedation.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Assesses patient’s physical, social and behavioral, mental status through direct observation, interview, and medical record review.
  • Documents nursing assessment, identify the symptoms, manage various disease entities and administers medicines.

Requirements: 

  • Two years of the criticar care / emergency room / radiology experience required
  • IV Insertion and conscious sedation experience required
  • NY state RN License - required
  • Knowledge and competency of both interventional and diagnostic procedures
  • CCRN - preferred, not required
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
