Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Group Facilitator to lead and manage group discussions, meetings, and workshops for K-12 students within a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will have strong facilitation skills, the ability to build rapport with children and adolescents, and experience working with mental health populations.

This role focuses on supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development while coordinating services with families, schools, and community providers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with mental health populations (pre- or post-Bachelor’s)
  • Must meet requirements under 10A NCAC 27G.0104 as a Qualified Professional (QP) for Mental Health
  • Minimum 2 years of documented experience working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Proven experience facilitating group discussions, workshops, or educational sessions for K-12 students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard documentation systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when needed

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Human Services and NC MH/DD/SAS network
  • State services and definitions related to MH/DD/SAS programs
  • Basic office procedures including documentation, record keeping, and filing systems
  • Clinical diagnoses and treatment approaches for children and adolescents

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a supportive and structured environment addressing students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Facilitate group discussions, meetings, and workshops for K-12 students
  • Provide school-based mental health interventions to support academic success and family stability
  • Develop and maintain Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) and monitor client progress
  • Conduct functional needs assessments to determine service goals and expected outcomes
  • Prepare crisis plans and maintain updated documentation for assigned caseload
  • Submit authorization and re-authorization requests for services in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with medical providers, school staff, families, and community supports
  • Provide case management services, including referrals and coordination of care
  • Participate in program meetings and contribute to data-driven program improvements
  • Maintain accurate and compliant daily documentation and service notes according to Medicaid guidelines
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies
  • Report suspected abuse or neglect to the Department of Social Services as required
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional program environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director
