DirectShifts is seeking Dentists across Philadelphia for different facilities across Philadelphia.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent would diagnose and treat patient with issues concerning teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth
- They will provide advice and instruction on maintaining good oral health and on diet choices that affect oral health
- Reviews patient's medical record, including allergies, problems, medications, and dental history
- Elicits and records information about patient's medical history
- Examines x-rays of teeth, gums the jaw and nearby areas for problems
- Remove decay from teeth and fill cavities
- Repair and/ or remove cracked or fractured teeth
- Straighten teeth to correct bite issues
- Place sealants or whitening agents on teeth
- Give anesthetics to keep patients from feeling pain during procedures
- Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies
- Make models and measurements for dental appliances, such as dentures, to fit patients
- Teaches patients about diet, flossing, use of fluoride and other aspects of dental care
- Refers patients to specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's oral health
- Documents the patient's visit including dental exam, diagnoses, and plan of action
- Follows up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases
- Manages and consults with Dental Hygienist, EFDAs, and Dental Assistants as needed
- Trains, mentors and supervises students and clinical support staff, as appropriate
Requirements:
- Doctorate in Dental Medicine or Dental Surgery
- Minimum one year of clinical experience in general dentistry, including experience examining, diagnosing, and treating patients
- PA state license required
