About the Role:
As an ER RN at a DirectShifts facility in Illinois, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients experiencing a wide range of medical emergencies and traumas. You will work collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure timely interventions and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage based on acuity level.
- Administer medications, initiate IV therapy, and perform other critical care procedures.
- Monitor vital signs, document patient care comprehensively, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Illinois State RN License.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency room nursing (preferred).
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
- ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) (preferred).
- PALS certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) (a plus).
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
