As a valuable member of the Carbon Health team, you would provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment. Location: Cupertino What We Offer Full time or part time positions available Clinic hours are 9:00am to 7:00pm (7 days a week) Flexibility of scheduling; no overnights Strong close-knit culture within and across our clinic sites and at HQ in San Francisco A supportive, team-oriented environment where your input and contributions are valued and recognized Excellent clinical, administrative and management support Your Role Provide exceptional treatment and communication of care options to patients, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a continuous patient flow and avoiding long wait times Order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests; also, interpret EKGs, X-rays, and test results Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia. Perform minor outpatient surgical procedures such as wound closure and management, incision and drainage, foreign body removal. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts. Start IV fluids. Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid’s elbow reductions. Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. Communicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information. Communicate patient needs, diagnosis, and course of treatment to the patient, company, as well as other clinical staff and instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable. Review and manage daily tasks, patient callbacks, and lab results while on shift. Support oversight and lead day to day operations, as directed Serve as an expert by consulting, coaching, and identifying training and development opportunities for Advanced Practice Clinicians (NP and PA) Clinic Resources Labs: strep, mono, flu swab, urine dip, urine pregnancy, iStat Full X-ray services with radiologist interpreting studies EKG Oral/IM/IV medications including antibiotics and narcotics IV fluids Outpatient (non-narcotic) medications available for sale Your Qualifications and Skills (Required) Board certified/ Board eligible MD or DO in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Current medical license to practice in the state of California Maintain a controlled substance license along with a DEA license with no restrictions Experience in ER or urgent care or similar setting (minimum 1 year) Must possess a National Provider Identifier number Passion for providing the best patient experience and care Strong ability to work within an electronic health record in a paperless environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality Outstanding reputation for cultivating collaborations and relationship building skills with patients and staff Ideal Qualities (Desired) Flexibility and willingness to work some weekends and holidays Able to work in other clinic locations, as needed Benefits and Perks
