About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Technician to join our dedicated team at Loretto Hospital. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on care to our patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing team. As a key part of the healthcare team, your contributions will help ensure the delivery of top-quality care and the safety and comfort of our patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant or patient care technician program
- Current CPR certification
- Effective communication skills with both patients and healthcare professionals
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a telemetry unit
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with essential daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and document vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
- Alert the nursing staff to any changes in patient conditions
- Aid in patient mobility and transfers as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Skills:
As a Patient Care Technician, you will rely on your excellent communication skills to work closely with patients and the healthcare team. Your ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and focus on the details will be essential to providing exceptional patient care. Experience with telemetry and electronic medical records will be a valuable asset in this role.
