Job Description:
DirectShifts is seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician for locum coverage in Ohio. This role focuses on providing exceptional emergency care, primarily during night shifts and weekends
Position Details:
Shifts: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Main focus on night shifts and weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency care to patients in a busy, fast-paced emergency department
- Oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- Write orders for hospital admissions
- Deliveries are sent directly to Labor & Delivery
- Collaborate with specialists such as Radiologists, Cardiologists, Pulmonologists, Gastroenterologists, Urologists, and Hematologists/Oncologists
- Manage diverse cases, with support from a multidisciplinary team
Facility Information:
- Annual ED Volume: 18,527 visits per year (15-20 patients per shift per provider)
- Hospital Admissions from ED: 17%
- ED Patients Admitted to Hospital per Day: 17%
- ED Patients Transferred Per Day: Less than 7%
- Total Number of Beds: 11
- Trauma Level: None
- Fast Track Available in ED
- EMR: All Scripts/Paragon
