As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, prepare treatment rooms, educate patients, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized.
- Welcome, prepare, and assist patients before, during, and after dental procedures.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by passing instruments, suctioning, and mixing dental materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs as permitted by certification.
- Fabricate temporary restorations and assist with removable dental appliances.
- Maintain accurate patient charts and clinical documentation.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-treatment care.
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Maintain inventory, equipment, and supplies.
- Respond appropriately during medical or dental emergencies.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure an outstanding patient experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program OR a minimum of 6 months of hands-on Dental Assistant experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred
- CVCT Training.
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential.
- Previous experience in a general dentistry practice.
