Dental Assistant – 

Location: Manhattan, NY

Schedule: Per Diem | 8-Hour Shifts

Position Overview

Join a patient-focused dental practice where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, prepare treatment rooms, educate patients, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized.
  • Welcome, prepare, and assist patients before, during, and after dental procedures.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by passing instruments, suctioning, and mixing dental materials.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs as permitted by certification.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and assist with removable dental appliances.
  • Maintain accurate patient charts and clinical documentation.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-treatment care.
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Maintain inventory, equipment, and supplies.
  • Respond appropriately during medical or dental emergencies.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure an outstanding patient experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program OR a minimum of 6 months of hands-on Dental Assistant experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred

  • CVCT Training.
  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential.
  • Previous experience in a general dentistry practice.
