Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to emergency patients of all ages
- Triage patients quickly and efficiently using standardized protocols
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, responding appropriately to changes
- Administer medications, perform interventions, and assist in emergency procedures
- Document all care and communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
- Maintain a safe and organized environment in the ED
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing)
Licensure: Current South Carolina RN license or compact state equivalent
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required or must obtain within 6 months
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred or must obtain per department guidelines
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred
Experience:
- Emergency nursing experience preferred, but new grads with strong clinical rotations in ED are welcome to apply
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
