Hiring for NICU RNs | Syracuse, NY
About the Role:
As a NICU RN in Syracuse, you will play a vital role in providing specialized and lifesaving care to fragile newborns facing a variety of medical challenges. You will work collaboratively with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for these vulnerable infants.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the complex needs of premature and critically ill newborns.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret lab results, and operate advanced life support equipment.
- Administer specialized medications and provide meticulous care following intricate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans and track patient progress.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to parents of NICU babies during a difficult time.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment for critically ill newborns in the NICU.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and NICU care protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted New York State RN License.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NCCN) certification (preferred, but not mandatory).
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) mandatory.
- PALS certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) (a plus).
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach with a focus on advocating for the needs of fragile newborns.
- Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional technical skills for providing specialized care.
