Job Summary

We seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Medical Assistant (MA) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living activities, perform clinical tasks, and support medical staff to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on patient care including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Prepare patients for meals, assist with feeding, and monitor dietary intake.
  • Collect urine, stool, and other specimens; empty bedpans following infection control protocols.
  • Perform safe patient transfers (one-person, two-person, and mechanical lifts such as Hoyer Lift).
  • Take and document vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) accurately.
  • Assist with ambulation, wheelchair/stretcher transportation, and range of motion (ROM) exercises.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing (e.g., glucometer QA), verifying expiration dates of testing materials.
  • Accurately document all patient care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards at all times.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong patient care and customer service skills with a compassionate bedside manner.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stretch, and assist in lifting/transferring patients.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and performing intermediate math calculations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling procedures.

Education & Certifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • BLS/BCLS Certification (American Heart Association or equivalent).
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Patient Care Technician Certification through a national certifying body or PCT course completion certificate.
  • EKG and Phlebotomy course completion certificates.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility.

Schedule Notes:

  • Night Shift: 5×8 hrs, Monday–Friday – Workers needed
  • Evening Shift: 5×8 hrs, Monday–Friday – Workers needed
  • Weekends Only: Night and Evening shifts – Workers needed

Requirements:

Must have Course Certification (not just training)

Psychiatry experience required for all shifts
