The Mental Health Professional or Clinical Trainee takes the responsibility for: completing Comprehensive Evaluations (i.e. Diagnostic Assessments) and offering treatment recommendations to clients. 

Primary Resposibilities:

Conduct thorough Comprehensive Evaluations of clients by gathering historical information, formulating diagnoses and making appropriate recommendations. 

Procedure:

  • The Mental Health Professional or Clinical Trainee will serve as the evaluator for clients seeking a Comprehensive Evaluation to determine eligibility for any Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) program. 
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation, in the Electronic Medical Record, of all services provided. This includes but is not limited to evaluations, client contact, treatment coordination, and coordination and communication with other providers and client support person. 

Education, Experience and Credentials

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional in the State of Minnesota, or Clinical Trainee working toward independent licensure.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; deals effectively with a variety of people and personalities; communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Fluency in English. Another language is a preferred qualification, but not required.
  • Able to work independently, showing initiative and willingness to take charge of a situation.
  • Works as an effective and proactive team player.
  • Skilled in identifying and assessing a wide range of clients’ needs.
  • Knowledgeable about local and regional community resources and how to access them.
  • Applies effective time management skills to meet all deadlines.
  • Demonstrates thoroughness and organizational skills in the workplace.
  • Shows proper etiquette when dealing with clients and other sources.
  •  Ability to diagnose problems of individuals relating to mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Ability to formulate and recommend treatment plans for individuals.
  • Respects other professionals, and other methods of intervention.
  • Willingness to respond to urgent and emergent situations with clients.
  • Displays flexibility to meet the Center’s and client’s needs in an environment with interruptions.
  • Understands the confidential nature of organizational information and maintains confidences.
  • Familiarity with standard computer functions, including keyboarding, and applications including e-mail. 
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record keeping. Ability to learn a new EMR system (SCHRC uses CareLogic). 
  • Willingness to provide services via Telemedicine.
