Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for the provision of total patient care to a specific group of patients utilizing the nursing process
Is responsible for the coordination of services provided by other members of the health care team within the guidelines of hospital policy and procedures
May have to act in a charge nurse capacity and as such directs and supervises nursing care within a specific assigned unit in the absence of and in conjunction with the Nurse Manager
Should identify and correct nursing service problems and maintain patient care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory agencies while effectively utilizing the chain of command
