Medical Director – Medical Aesthetics & Laser Services
About the Opportunity
A growing medical aesthetics practice in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a California-licensed Physician (MD/DO) to serve as Medical Director and provide clinical oversight for aesthetic and laser-based services.
This is an opportunity to collaborate with an expanding practice focused on delivering high-quality aesthetic treatments while maintaining strong clinical standards, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Medical Director in accordance with California regulations.
- Provide medical oversight for aesthetic and cosmetic procedures performed by qualified staff.
- Conduct Good Faith Exams and patient evaluations when medically appropriate.
- Review charts and support quality assurance initiatives.
- Establish, review, and update treatment protocols and clinical policies.
- Ensure compliance with California Medical Board requirements and applicable regulations.
- Be available for physician consultation regarding patient care and treatment planning.
- Assist with implementation and oversight of laser technologies and other advanced aesthetic treatments.
- Support staff education, training, and competency validation as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership on service expansion, patient safety, and clinical best practices.
Qualifications
- Active California MD or DO license in good standing.
- Experience in medical aesthetics, cosmetic medicine, dermatology, plastic surgery, family medicine, emergency medicine, or a related specialty preferred.
- Previous Medical Director or physician oversight experience in a med spa, aesthetics, or wellness setting is highly desirable.
- Experience supervising RNs, NPs, PAs, or other aesthetic providers preferred.
- Familiarity with laser hair removal and other aesthetic laser technologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of California regulations related to physician supervision and aesthetic medicine.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Position Details
- Independent contractor position.
- Estimated commitment: 10–15 hours per month.
- Flexible remote schedule with occasional onsite responsibilities.
