Roles & Responsibilities
- Accurately record and meticulously edit medical reports, ensuring the precision and clarity of information.
- Continuously enhance your understanding of medical terminology, becoming proficient in its application within the healthcare domain.
- Review and manage medical visit documentation and patient data with meticulous attention to detail.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, and optimizing the flow of patient visits for maximum efficiency.
- Facilitate patient referrals to specialists/NPs/PAs/PCPs, ensuring seamless and timely transitions in their care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage prescription requests, promoting safe and effective patient care.
Skills and Qualifications
- An Associate degree or higher education (foreign medical graduates and medical students are preferred)
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Proficient knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) are preferred but not required
- Experience in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Preferably with at least 1-year customer service-oriented experience as a medical scribe in the field of healthcare or homecare is a must
