Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist is responsible to provide a functional evaluation of the patient and develops a plan.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
- Seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist who upholds WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients as per physician referrals, developing and modifying treatment plans, maintaining accurate records, and engaging in discharge planning.
- The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with other professionals, supervise support staff, and provide educational guidance to students.
- Additionally, the role involves fabricating adaptive devices and ensuring departmental equipment maintenance. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating therapeutic programs and addressing patient needs effectively.
- Participation in departmental meetings, continuing education, and compliance with hospital policies is expected.
- The Occupational Therapist will also assist families with post-discharge care information and billing inquiries.
- Flexible to undertake various assignments and committed to delivering high-quality care.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of accredited college program in occupational therapy, B.S. in Occupational Therapy or higher degree.
- Licensure: New York state license or eligibility for license.
- Experience: Successful completion of orientation program according to department guidelines
