Are you a detail-oriented and skilled individual seeking a crucial role in the healthcare field? Join our dynamic team as an Operating Room Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of surgical procedures. As an Operating Room Tech, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff in preparing and maintaining the surgical environment, instruments, and equipment.


11pm – 7am 5 days a week, alternating weekends.

13-week-contract

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in positioning and prepping patients for surgery while ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment throughout surgical procedures, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Hand instruments and supplies to surgical team members during procedures as requested.
  • Anticipate surgeon's needs by providing prompt and accurate assistance, enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Assist in the setup and management of specialized equipment such as endoscopes and laparoscopic instruments.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for upcoming procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate smooth workflow and communication during surgeries.
  • Adhere to established hospital policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous learning and training to stay current with advancements in surgical technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy equipment.
