**Job Description:**
BronxCare Health System is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the orthopedic department, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Patient Evaluation and Assessment:**
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and MRI scans.
2. **Orthopedic Treatment Planning:**
- Assist in the development of comprehensive treatment plans for orthopedic patients.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to determine appropriate interventions and surgical procedures.
3. **Surgical Assistance:**
- Provide skilled assistance in orthopedic surgeries, ensuring a seamless and efficient operating room experience.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
4. **Patient Education:**
- Educate patients on their orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Address patient questions and concerns, promoting informed decision-making.
5. **Collaboration and Communication:**
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain clear and concise communication regarding patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
6. **Documentation:**
- Accurately document patient encounters, treatment plans, and other relevant information in electronic medical records.
**Qualifications:**
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current New York State Physician Assistant license.
- Orthopedic experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
