Job description:

Assesses, plans, evaluates and implements patient care according to accepted standards of practice.
Documents delivery of patient care in the medical record.
Administers medications and treatments and observes patient responses.
Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with patients, their families and hospital staff.
Provides patient and family education regarding health practices and treatment modalities.
Provides direction and instruction to staff, interpreting the needs of each patient to all persons participating in the patient's care.
Maintains current knowledge of health care developments and therapeutic measures.
Attends department in-services and staff development programs.
Provides orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical and nursing students.
Initiates emergency nursing measures such and Code Blue and Code Red.
Provide vacation and temporary relief as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
