Paraprofessional / Teacher’s Aide (Special Education)
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Paraprofessional / Teacher’s Aide to support students in a structured classroom environment, including those with special needs and behavioral challenges. You will work closely with teachers and licensed professionals to support student learning, development, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Support classroom instruction and assist with lesson activities
- Work with small groups or individual students
- Monitor and report student progress (academic and behavioral)
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
- Assist students with personal care needs (as required)
- Support use of assistive technology and learning tools
- Supervise students during classroom and non-classroom activities
- Perform basic administrative tasks (attendance, grading, documentation)
- Collaborate with staff and maintain confidentiality (HIPAA compliant)
- Assist with extracurricular activities and student support needs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Experience working with children (special needs experience a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of child development and behavior support
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
Preferred Backgrounds:
Education, Special Education, Psychology, Child Development, ABA, or Social Work
