Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, The Patient Care Technician participates in the delivery of care to patients in the Medical, Surgical, Telemetry and Critical Care Unit. The Patient Care Technician promotes good public relations and professional attitude when dealing with co-workers, patients, visitors, and physicians. The Patient Care Technicians also provides patient care and performs job functions and responsibilities in compliance with hospital policies, protocols and job descriptions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Provides courteous service to our patients, visitors, staff, physicians and other internal/external costumers
- Accepts or responds to change in a manner that promotes and supports departmental/hospital goals and objectives
- Response to the needs of department by accepting additional assignments and or assisting others o to ensure the continuity of service
- Maintains the desk as needed which include order entry, charges, ordering supplies and telephone etiquettes
- Transport patients lab, specimens and others as assigned
- Follows established emergency, infection control and or universal precautions procedures as required
- Promptly respond to the need of the patients
- Demonstrate the ability to manage patients of all ages or patients with special needs
- Should have experience working with Substance Use Disorder
Job Requirements:

The requirements listed must be represented of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and /or ability required. - High School Diploma or GED required
- Six months or more experience as Medical, Surgical, Telemetry and Critical Care related fields
- CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P, or PCT Certification required
- CPR and CPI within 6 months of hire
