About the Role:
As a Pediatric RN at a DirectShifts facility in Florida , you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to children across all stages of development, from newborns to teenagers. You will work collaboratively with pediatricians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes for young patients in various settings, including inpatient units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the physical and emotional health of children, monitor vital signs, and interpret test results.
- Administer medications, provide age-appropriate care and treatment plans.
- Educate children and their families about health conditions, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to children undergoing procedures or experiencing illness.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans and track patient progress.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children in the pediatric unit or clinic.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and pediatric care protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Florida State RN License.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a pediatric care setting (preferred, but general RN experience can be considered).
- Strong understanding of child development, common pediatric illnesses, and growth patterns.
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) is mandatory. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (a plus).
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach with a focus on building rapport with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
