Our physicians provide medical care to Camarena Health patient by providing personalized, comprehensive, out-patient optometry care under the direction of the Medical Director. Physicians delivers primary care and excellent experience to the patients of Camarena Health appropriate for an out-patient, primary care community health center with multicultural, multilingual patient population .
Camarena Health (CH) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in the Central California area. Our integrated care model provides patients with both Behavioral Health and primary care services that include Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Optometry and Dentistry. In addition, we also provide discounted pharmacy services for uninsured patients. At Camarena Health, each patient has a health care team working together to provide seamless, coordinated care with the patient’s overall wellness in mind. We provided nearly 112,047 visits for medically underserved adults and children in 2014.
Camarena Health provides care for a diverse patient population, which includes all ages, from newborns to the elderly, residents of both urban and rural settings, people of all income levels, and patients with a wide variety of diagnoses.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITES
Delivery of Health Care Services:
Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities within the scope of optometry.
Analyze test results and develop a treatment plan.
Prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids.
Prescribe medications to treat eye diseases if state laws permit.
Remove foreign bodies from the eye.
Chart documentation according to clinic standards using Electronic Health Record charting, specific forms documentation, referrals and ordering specific tests. Documentation of acute and chronic problems, including medication as needed.
Follow-up on specific disease categories and no show evaluations.
Review laboratory, x-ray and referral documents prior to filing.
Health Education coordination for patient follow-up for specific health education issues.
Refer to approved medical protocols and/or guidelines for treatment.
Consultations with Medical Director for problems beyond standardized procedures. Consult physicians as needed.
Referrals to other providers as needed including Health Education referrals as indicated per protocols."
