TTUHSC El Paso - Transmountain and Tenet Healthcare have collaborated and built a new 106 bed teaching hospital and academic medical office building in west El Paso. The successful candidate in this position will be employed by TTUHSC El Paso at an academic rank commensurate with qualifications. The ideal candidate(s) will develop the Otolaryngology practice and provide inpatient and outpatient care, assist in curriculum development and provide teaching experiences for medical students and residents from the Foster School of Medicine. The candidate will participate in committees, and/or scholarly activities within the Department, Medical School and University.
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit.
Provides consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings
Maintains all applicable licenses, controlled substance registration, board certifications, hospital privileges, and third party payer enrollments in good standing
Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents
Participates in research and/or scholarly activities in the department
Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Experience and demonstrated interest in teaching students and residents
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Ability to teach effectively.
M.D. / D.O.
Licensed in Texas or eligible for medical Licensure in the State of Texas
Successful completion of an ACGME approved residency in Otolaryngology
Board certified or eligible to enter the American Board of Otolaryngology process
Qualified for Faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor or Higher
Must meet the practitioner recruitment requirements as set forth in the Anti-Kickback Statue and Stark Law
