Pulmonary/Critical Care Opportunity- South Sacramento, CA
In our ICU service, our medical intensivists manage medical patients and surgical subspecialty patients. Our hospital is a Level 2 Trauma Center with a dedicated surgical critical care group to manage Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. We perform elective and emergent PCI and place intra-aortic balloon pumps. No post-op CV surgery patients or ECMO at our location. Great collaboration with ICU RN, RT, PharmD, and other staff. There are 30 ICU beds and 130,000 emergency department registrations annually, and we average 8-10 hours a day with 8-10 patients in the ICU. We have an in-house presence from 7am–12 am, growing a remote monitoring program to 7 nights a week coverage 8pm–8am. We work about 1:4 weekends, depending on season. In our Pulmonary practice, case mix is approximately 60/40 ICU/Pulmonary, with separate inpatient and outpatient Pulmonology services. We are a Thoracic Surgery hub for KP NCAL, with an active thoracic oncology group and team meetings weekly, and we do EBUS. We also have regional multidisciplinary interstitial lung disease conferences twice monthly, with participation by Pulmonology, Thoracic Radiology, Pulmonary Pathology and Rheumatology. We are one of KP Northern California’s accredited Cystic Fibrosis Centers, with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. No interventional pulmonary or pulmonary hypertension practice (done elsewhere in KP).
