THRIVE provides mental health and substance use disorder services across the lifespan, including outpatient services, care management, residential care, supportive housing, peer-based services, and community resource coordination.
Position Overview
THRIVE Wellness and Recovery is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join its clinical team in Watertown or Lowville, NY.
The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluation, treatment, medication management, and ongoing behavioral health care to individuals receiving mental health and/or substance use disorder services.
This is an in-person position with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.
Requirements
Active New York State PMHNP license
PMHNP certification
Active DEA registration
Active Medicaid enrollment
Active Medicare enrollment
Experience providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management
Experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions within scope of practice.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medication management and monitor treatment response.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with applicable laws and clinical guidelines.
- Provide ongoing follow-up and coordinate care with other providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with therapists, care managers, peer specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Support individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders across the lifespan.
- Participate in care coordination and other clinical activities as required.
- Maintain compliance with THRIVE policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
