Our client is seeking a BC child/adult psychiatrist to provide care to low level psych patients that may otherwise not receive treatment.
Openings M-F 8am-5pm within an outpatient setting!!
The patient population consists of mild to moderate level patients within a diverse diaspora with a wide variety of diagnosis. This is a unique opportunity to engage with our patients in a familiar setting and provide care as well as peer education to our patients.
There is some flexibility in doing a combination of Telepsych and in person services. The primary goals would be to provide care to patients that are managed within our clinics and partner with existing non mental health providers.
Responsibilities
•Mentor, advise, and help clinically supervise the management of a cohort of behaviorists engaged in providing therapy to patients
•Coordination of care within our Primary Care clinics and work closely with the providers at these clinics to manage and guide the treatment of patients
•Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
•Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients
•Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis
•Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications
•Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
•Provide crisis intervention as needed
•Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
•Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans
•Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care
Requirements
•Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
•Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
•Licensed in CA
•Current DEA registration
•Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
•Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
•Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Morning or evening availability
