Job Description:
- As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to critically ill patients during the night shift.
- The role involves close monitoring, assessment, and coordination of care for patients with complex medical conditions, ensuring their well-being and optimal recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms during the night shift.
- Continuously monitor and interpret data from various medical equipment, such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and intravenous lines.
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patients' conditions, making critical decisions to ensure the best possible outcomes during the night shift.
- Work closely with the night-shift healthcare team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, titrate dosages, and closely monitor for potential side effects or adverse reactions during the night shift.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes during the night shift.
- Participate in emergency response activities and codes during the night shift, demonstrating proficiency in life-saving techniques and protocols.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives during the night shift, actively participating in reviews and assessments of patient care practices
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Certifications: Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) is often preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in an acute care or critical care setting, with a preference for night-shift experience.
- Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses).
