Job Description:
Department: CVOR (701)
Shift : 6:30 AM-5 PM
- We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Contract Registered Nurse (RN) to join our CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) department as a backfill position.
- As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care within our dynamic surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operative assessments, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure patient readiness for surgery.
- Assist in surgical procedures by providing sterile instruments, and supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and condition during surgery, promptly addressing any changes or concerns.
- Administer medications and anesthesia under the guidance of an anesthesiologist.
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing pain, and addressing complications.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain comprehensive patient records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and adherence to protocols.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments in the field of CVOR nursing.
- Uphold ethical standards and follow institutional policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in TEXAS.
- Prior experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Proficiency in maintaining sterile techniques and adhering to infection control practices.
- Ability to assess patient conditions, prioritize tasks, and make critical decisions.
- Flexibility to work the specified timing and fulfill the demands of the backfill role.
