Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. The RN is responsible to the Clinical Manager for the assigned Department
- Through a team approach, provides professional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients within an assigned unit through the process of assessment, treatment, planning, and evaluation in support of medical care
- Utilizes knowledge of the physical and behavioral signs and symptoms of chemical dependency while facilitating all dimensions of the recovery process
- Implementation of appropriate interventions and ongoing reassessment according to the criteria established by the American Society of Addictive Medicine. Maintains treatment activities of the department in compliance with sound clinical practice, department and hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory standards. HFAP, TJC, IDPH, and OSHA
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Minimum 1-year experience in the Emergency Department required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are mandatory.
- 2 years' experience in chemical dependency or a combination of chemical dependency and mental health preferred.
- Registered Nurse with current State of Illinois licensure.
- Illinois certification as a substance abuse counselor (CDAC or equivalent) is a plus.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
