Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology | Chicago, IL
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Interventional Radiology (IR) team in Chicago, IL. This role requires strong clinical judgment, hands-on critical care experience, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, procedural environment. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing high-acuity patients, supporting minimally invasive procedures, and ensuring safe and efficient patient care throughout the interventional process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile procedural environment and required equipment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring stability and safety.
- Manage IV access, administer medications, and support sedation as required.
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and procedural details.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific or compact, as applicable).
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Interventional Radiology (IR), Cath Lab, or critical care experience in ER or ICU required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association required).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Strong IV insertion skills and experience with hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
