About the role:

Applying the standards set forth for nursing practice by the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Med Surg RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for unit patients.

  • Plan, implement, revise and delegate nursing care
  • Perform necessary technical skills as delineated through education, expertise, and unit requirements
  • Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice

Experience:

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in an acute care setting – preferred

Education

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred

License and Certifications

  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required 
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – preferred 

Possible Shift Time

  • 7A-7P (day shifts)
