Registered Nurse Supervisor/Charge - Athens, GA
Role Summary:
- Oversee nursing care delivery during a shift, coordinating staff and ensuring high-quality care for medically complex patients in an acute or critical care environment.
- Serve as a clinical leader, acting as a resource for the team and stepping in to provide hands-on care when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and lab monitoring.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines to manage patient care, and assist with in-house procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding care plans and updates.
- Manage staffing assignments and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
- Support departmental operations, including supply and equipment organization.
- Perform chart audits, oversee quality initiatives, and contribute to staff development through training and competency evaluations.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia (GA) (or Compact RN License).
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum 1 year of critical care/ICU experience; supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
For supervisory-level roles: typically, 2+ years in acute care and at least 2 years in a charge or leadership role. A BSN is preferred (especially for supervisory-level positions).
