Travel Position | EKG Technician – Cardiopulmonary | Asheville, NC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Travel EKG Technician – Cardiopulmonary to join our healthcare team in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in EKG/ECG testing, cardiopulmonary procedures, and related patient care, delivering accurate diagnostics in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs/ECGs) and other cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests according to established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients, ensuring proper electrode placement and high-quality test results.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormalities to the supervising physician or cardiology team.
- Maintain and calibrate EKG and cardiopulmonary equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Record, analyze, and document test results accurately in patient charts or electronic medical records.
- Assist with stress tests, Holter monitoring, and other cardiopulmonary assessments as required.
- Educate patients about procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout testing.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of EKG/ECG technician experience, preferably in a hospital or cardiology setting.
- Certification as an EKG Technician (CET) or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of cardiopulmonary testing, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and related procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a travel assignment.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
