Travel Position | Mammography Technologist | Asheville, NC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Travel Mammography Technologist to join our team in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience performing mammography exams and breast imaging procedures, delivering high-quality diagnostic images while providing compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Prepare and position patients properly to ensure optimal image quality while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Operate mammography and related imaging equipment, ensuring accurate calibration and maintenance.
- Evaluate image quality and report any technical issues to the supervising radiologist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients about the procedure and answer questions to ease anxiety.
- Adhere to infection control standards, radiation safety protocols, and departmental policies.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- 2+ years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Mammography or equivalent.
- Valid State Radiologic Technologist license (NC preferred).
- Knowledge of breast imaging techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently on travel assignments.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
