Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Travel Mother-Baby RN (Postpartum) to join our healthcare team in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of postpartum or mother-baby nursing experience and a passion for providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a supportive, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and their newborns, including assessment, monitoring, and interventions.
  • Educate and support new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and maternal wellness.
  • Monitor newborns for signs of distress, administer medications, and perform routine newborn procedures per hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient care protocols.
  • Provide emotional support to families during the postpartum period, promoting a positive birth and recovery experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • 2+ years of experience in postpartum or mother-baby nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact license eligible).
  • BLS certification required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a travel assignment setting.
  • Compassion, empathy, and dedication to maternal and newborn care.
