Travel Position | Nuclear Medicine Technologist | McAllen, TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified, skilled, and motivated Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our healthcare team in McAllen, Texas. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, including PET and SPECT imaging, in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare, handle, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate, monitor, and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and high-quality diagnostic results
- Evaluate image quality and ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensure proper positioning, and provide clear instructions and compassionate care throughout the process
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and promptly report any adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and procedure logs
- Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and optimal patient outcomes
- Identify and report equipment issues while ensuring proper functionality
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Valid certification (ARRT-N or NMTCB preferred)
- Active Texas state license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, imaging techniques, and radiation safety protocols
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills
- Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and clinical judgment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in travel assignments and new clinical environments
