Travel Position | Operating Room Registered Nurse | Savannah, GA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and adaptable Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a well-established, high-performing surgical team in Savannah, Georgia. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting surgical teams, maintaining clinical excellence, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after procedures, while demonstrating strong adaptability and the ability to quickly integrate into new clinical environments and team dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain operating rooms, ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready for procedures.
- Provide direct patient care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by anticipating needs and maintaining sterile fields.
- Monitor patient conditions during surgery and respond promptly to any changes.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
- Deliver post-operative care and educate patients and families on recovery and care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of patient care and surgical interventions.
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia or compact state).
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience handling a variety of surgical procedures; exposure to multiple specialties preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and travel assignments.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as required.
